Uncertainty Quantification of Random Microbial Growth in a Competitive Environment via Probability Density Functions

The Baranyi–Roberts model describes the dynamics of volumetric densities two interacting cell populations. We randomize this by considering that initial conditions are random variables whose distributions determined using sample data and principle maximum entropy. Subsequenly, we obtain Liouville–Gibbs partial differential equation for probability density function two-dimensional solution stochastic process. Because exact is unaffordable, use a finite volume scheme to numerically approximate aforementioned function. From key information, design an optimization procedure in order determine best growth rates model, so expectation numerical as close possible data. results evidence good fitting allows performing reliable predictions.
